The special thing about ritual is that it can provide a form to that which cannot be said, for which there are no words. In the times in our lives when we experience intens emotions, as there are with a farewell of a loved one, it can be very difficult to find the fitting words for the emotions you are going through.
A ritual act can help to give words to these emotions in a totally different ways, making it easier and enabling us to share it with others in a beautiful and binding way.
I am a member of OBOD since 2013 and finalized the Druid grade. I took the course Serving the Living & the Dead, to integrate the skills of a celebrant and creating a funeral ritual, in my life as a druid and my work as a lifecoach & counselor.
I would like to offer my services as a celebrant to fellow druids in The Netherlands, who are looking for a way that is fitting for their lives, to shape a funeral or other farewell ceremony.
I will bring all my knowledge on ritual, symbolism, story telling and nature wisdom. We will create a very personal ritual, based on the wishes of the deceased and in close cooperation with the relatives.
My professional background as a coach and teacher will help me to bind a group of people together in the moment and will make sure that everyody will feel fully involved in the ritual or ceremony. Not only the ones following the druid way, but also the people who have other views on the mysteries of life and death.
This will give the ritual a strong binding force which will help to experience the moment of transition in its full strength for all who are there, thus making it a conscious way of saying farewell to a loved one.
I live and work in Amersfoort, the Netherlands and offer my services in a circle of approx. 80 kilometers.
